Born with the drive to take risks, and the skills to pull them off, Garvin Cross has enjoyed a successful career creating those ‘wow’ moments on the big and small screen. One of his first stunt credits was working on a 1991 Chuck Norris feature The Hitman. From that point on his phone has not stopped ringing.
A lead stunt acting role starring alongside Jackie Chan in Rumble In The Bronx saw him as an opportune petty thief who steals a suitcase and draws a gang, a young kid Jackie befriended, and a whole neighborhood into a wild, action packed chase. You may have noticed a resemblance to Daniel Craig. So did others on the set of Dream House, where Garvin is Daniel’s stunt double. Among other notables, Garvin also doubled for Jeremy Renner, Ed Harris, Mark Wahlberg, and Frankie Muniz.
With over 150 credited and uncredited stunts it’s only natural his experience would lead to designing, developing and coordinating stunts. One memorable film Garvin coordinated is Lost Boys: The Tribe, where his out of the box thinking won praise from the directors and producers of this sci-fi action feature. And when big bang stunts are back seat to fun gags in family movies involving props, actors and animals, Garvin has done those too.
With experience comes knowledge, and Garvin is keen to help those serious about professional stunt work add to their portfolio of abilities.
There is no substitute for experience, and when a stunt is drawn out and executed, safety is the priority. Having had the experience in performing & coordinating stunts, 2nd unit, camera, and broad knowledge of equipment, Garvin can bring the action alive, on budget and on time.
